Now you could get a volvo v50 with 6spd manual. I believe you could get one used for under 2o. You could also get a 525i wagon, but it's only an auto, but the car itself is well below 10 grand. But lets be honest, do you really need all wheel drive? somewhat better acceleration, and some benefit in snow. At the cost of gas milage of course. Look at the newer mazda 3 hatchbacks, they are fwd, manuals, and msrp for the base model starts below 20k mark brand new, so you can definetly get one used. Only downfall to the mazda is it is said to start burning oil after about the three year mark. that is the older model though (pre2014), we will just have to wait and see about the newer models. The focus is also a good wagon/hatch to look at.

I live in snow country, I need AWD, I have a FWD and a RWD car at the moment, the FWD sucks, the tires are too wide, and I'm not gonna buy a second set of tires just to run them a few months a year, the RWD truck is oaky, but again I want something stabil and good in snow without any issues, especially since they don't plow my road.
